TRIC is a project, which aims at investigating the concept “Augmented Democracy” through theatre workshops in schools and a theatre show. The aim is to increase the awareness of the cognitive biases that influence the democratic debate and increase the awareness of the individual (and subsequently collective) social and civic responsibility connected to the use of technology in a democratic process, when it can have a global impact and have a reflection on ethnic groups, minorities and small communities.
In collaboration with the software engineering dpt. of VIA University College – Campus Horsens we are developing an App which is going to be used by the audience to vote live on how the dramaturgy should evolve during the show and simulate an augmented democratic process.
The word TRIC is an acronym for “The RIght Choice”. What can be considered the right choice?
Should it be a choice made by the majority of people only because it was a result of a democratic process, even though this choice leads to a bad result or an unfair treatment for some minorities?
Should it be a choice made by few technocrats, who go against the majority of people’s will through a non-democratic process in the name of “The Common Good”?
